Four Corners Conference

The Four Corners Conference is dedicated to the mission of providing access and improving Computer Science curriculums for Indigenous students. In order to accomplish this, the conference meets for three days (June 23rd to June 26th) at Ft. Lewis College in which educators and researchers share their innovations and projects. The attendees are fully funded by a grant from google.

Let’s Talk Code Professional Development

Let’s Talk Code will conduct a three day professional development workshop from June 26th to June 28th at Ft. Lewis College after the conference. In this workshop, attendees will learn how to integrate programming and computer science into current course content and culture. Attendees will also earn up to $500 stipend for completing the workshop and $500 for implementing what they learned in Fall 2024 with their students.

Lodging and food will be provided for attendees to attend both the Four Corners conference as well as the Let’s Talk Code workshop

What to expect

  • Learn how to integrate programming and coding into current course content, such as math, science or art
  • Engage with Code.org course materials and resources
  • Discuss and explore cultural/community topics to anchor student learning in computer science and engineering
  • Receive up to 30 hrs. of Professional Development Credit
  • Earn up to $1,000 Stipend ($500 for completion of Course Sessions / $500 for completion of Classroom Application)
